    Removing Macrovision

I have a gf2 with tvout and could not get my dvds to play on the tv. i tried many methods to get around it which had no success (at least for me).
i have found two ways that work, the second is by far the easiest and is the one i use now.

    1) using windvd, i play for a few seconds while playing on my monitor, then i pause it, switching to tv and playing again allowed me to watch on tv (with some success.)

    2) when i recently purchased a "creative pc-dvd" remote control i also received the program "remote selector". it does the following (from the website)
    *Region free
    *Disabling MacroVision
    *Disabling User Prohibition

i now use this program even without my remote control.
it seems to work well. give it a go even as you dont actually need a remote control. just run it in the background, and load up your dvd player. hopefully this helps.

(i have only tried it with windvd but it should work with others - for a small download, about 200k, it is worth it.)

here is their site, i think they have a trial available.
