    disbling macrovision on a geforce4 440 128mb

    hello all,

    i don't seem to be able to disable the macrovision on this card.
    i installed the latest driver and used the latest tvcc 8.0 software but it doesn't seem to recognize my card
    any one knows about this problem
    or could anyone tell me with wich card i can disable the macrovision and witrch card i cannot?

    The following may be applicable to your problem:

    There have been several postings over the past few months regarding this specific matter. The solution is to download and install the older NVidia driver(s)...


    "The 41.09 and future drivers have more stringent checks in the driver to comply with the latest Macrovision requirements. If the TV encoder does not support Macrovision, you will get the "Macrovision Distribution Failed" error message or a similar message depending on which DVD software player you are using. The BT868 and Conexant CX25870 TV encoders do not support Macrovision. If your graphics card is equipped with one of these TV encoders, then it will not support DVD playback with our 41.09 drivers and above."

          well, i will try tonight, if it doesn't work, i will rip the dvd to divx then record it on the tape...
          a friend of mine want this dvd but only have a vhs!!
          when i try to tape the dvd, the macrovision stuff come in action

          btw, do you know with what i could watch file made with dvd decrypter by chance?
          i tried with power dvd but with no chance....

            powerdvd should be able to play vobfiles from harddisk!!!
            if yours is not .... update.

            windvd is surley able to play a dvd from a hardiskfolder....
