Watching PC S-Video TV Out on TV via DVD Recorder

Hi all. Just connected my PC up to my TV via S-Video. Only catch is that my TV doesn't have an S-Video connection, so I had to plug it into my Phillips DVD recorder which is then connected to my tv via scart connection. Picture quality is generally good, except for the brightness fading in and out. From what I've just been reading I guess this is the 'Macrosplat' copy protection, and it's annoying the hell out of me!!!! All I want to do is watch video files that I have saved to my computer on my TV. Is there anyway to get around this????? I am totally new to this stuff so if anyone can please help I will be most grateful. Cheers, Tony

There are several "black boxes" available (Do a Googlesearch) for this purpose...

Cheers. My DVD-R is the Philips DVDR75 - are there any hacks to remove the Macrovision copy protection without the purchase of a "black box"?

The Macrovision effect that you are seeing is due to your passing through your VCR...

The S-Video signal doesn't actully pass through my VCR, just my Philips DVDR.......then the signal is taken from this to the TV directly, again not passing through the VCR......

"So do DVDRs have macrovision protection as well as VCRs????"

              Most likely...

(Sorry about the mistaken reference to VCR)
