VICE1000 is it a macrovision remover

Hi everyone, has anyone bought a vice1000 or can they sus it out on that auction site. It replaces the Vertical blanking area with its own code so dose that get rid macrovision as that is in the VBI. If it dose then whoever is making this might have got round the laws as this is legal.

Hi Guys, I bought one of these and it works a treat. It works 100% to remove copy protection..

It puts its own information in the macrovision area as you play your film through it, so essentially it overwrites the existing information and all traces of cgms and macrovision are removed from the copy.

It definately does remove the macrovision - I have tried it on a few things now...

It's a nice little unit too - very well made (much better than a similar unit I bought from Korea on eBay - that was terrible).

If anyone has any tech info on what this thing actually does in order to beat the macrovision signal I'd be well pleased - it's a mystery to me.

I discovered that this VICE 1000 works in a very clever way by allowing the VBI to be overwritten thus knocking out the Macrovison signal.

It's actually designed to encode frame numbers into the VBI so that they can be 'assembled' into a linear sequence after being recorder - for stop motion recording or security footage...

Anyway, it's still working a treat. I bought mine from http://www.hit-it.co.uk as they often have a sale on and seemed the cheapest I have found so far.

Anyone know id there is such a thing as an HDMI auto switcher available? I am thinking I will need one soon as my DVD and my Sky box take the only two I have on my set and I want a PS3 when they come out...
