Have you seen that before?
Where do these stripes come from?
I've encoded the movie twice on different machines - both movies have the same errors at some scene changes, but not in the same places! I don't have a proper DVD player sw that allows to view frames seperately or distinctly enough to be sure whether the source *.vob files are "clean", but they appear to be.
Both rips were freshly done from A-Z.
Original movie:
The Abyss (german, region 2)
PAL 25 fps, 720x576, interlaced
german audio: 5:1, 48 kHz
total length: ~ 1:36 (theatrical version)
seems to be Macrovision-protected
Ripping software: Smart Ripper 2.13,
de-CSS, de-Macrovision, region-free, copy IFO
Flash MPEG (v. 0594 AMD-optimized, small time-calculating bug) settings:
512*224 cropped (512*384), resizing: HQ bicubic
DivX 5.01 codec 864 kb/s.
deinterlace, threshold 10, blend
Athlon 3D Now! optimization
Audio: PCM 48 kHz 16b stereo, no audio/video separation
AMD Athlon 1 GHz + Epox/Pronix 8371 686A (VIA KX-133),unreliable machine (must be a nest of bugs somewhere) - ca. 7 fps
AMD Duron 700 Mhz + Asus A7V-133 (VIA KT-133A), good buddy - ca. 5,8 fps
