hey dudes i'm new in here but i think dvdx is fairly good specialy if your a newbie to all this ripping ,decoding stuff i use versions 1.6 and 1.7 and have no trouble with it at all well i did have trouble with my pc crashing but sorted that out ,what i like about it is you don't have to spend hours trying to work the setting out ,takes me about 30seconds to set up then hit decode, but i will say it does take some time to complete well it does on my system anyways, not the best system to use for this stuff(333mhz celeron) but it does the trick..............
anyway i reckon it's worth a try (4 out of 5 for me) -
I think DVDx is The Best!
Easy to use, and versatile: You can output video as MPEG1 (VCD), MPEG2 (DVD, SVCD), AVI (including DivX) or even Raw format. There are also many options for audio.
Audio and Video Synch problems had been banished in version 1.8 making DivX a reality. The interface is very atractive and simple yet it is precise.
As a software tool it is a piece of Art.Comment

DVDx was a great tool ! I had version 1.8 till now and it's still great for ripping DVD !
The only problem I've got was when some VOBs failed to load, then I must ripped the VOB files (Using SmartRipper) first before doing conversion. This can make some Substitle become bolder (I don't know how this anomaly sometime come).
Suggestion to DVDx team : Please enhanced the speed perfomance for video conversion....My Foot Print...Comment
