Does the DVD Files need to be unlocked or something first?

I used smart ripper to rip one of my DVDs, and i didn't unlock it when i ripped it.

Do i need to?

I've already ripped it, do i have to rip it again or can i just unlock it with a program?

Cosz i tried using the DVDx and i get errors or files that aren't bigger than 705MB

Any help appreciated. this is first time i'm doing this. So i don't know what i'm talking about.

What exactly do you mean by that? You are saying that your results are not or cannot get larger than 705MB?

Edit:

Assuming that the file you created plays alright (No funny things or artifacts), it is likely that the movie you are working on compresses so well it does not require a large amount of space. Hence, the 705MB size.

By the way, that size fits a 700MB disc very nicely, with a little reduction in bitrate or cropping off the credits.

If you anyhow get a clear picture with no green blocks, the DVD is unlocked and decrypted. If the file dosen't get the size you want, maybe you selected the wrong bitrate or the video won't get bigger because 705MB allready give maximum quality.

Otherwise, you might want to give GordianKnot a try. It should give you much better quality compared to DVDx. Have fun.
