    corrupted avi

I've got an avi which is corrupted. The index is missing, so I try to fix it with DivFix but it doesn't work. It tells me that the data is corrupted. Is it possible to fix this problem? How?

If the only problem is that the file is missing index blocks, load it into VirtualDub, which will automatically reconstruct them...

Or open it in TMPEGEnc. It helped me fix a lot of bad avi-files. If you want to use an other editor you may be able to save it as project and serve it via VFAPI.

I've already tried to reconstruct the index with VirtualDub, but it doesn't work properly. I ask virtualdub to re-construct the missing keyframes and the index. It does it, very quickly till it reaches the middle of the file. Next it goes slowly (for the index and the keyframes).
Once this operation is over, I can only read EXACTLY half of the file (for instance, if the file has 100 000 frames, the file I can read and save has 50 000 frames.)
I don't understand why. Do you?

        Thanks
