Is there any way to save a frame of video file (avi, mpeg, divx) to a .jpg file?

With mpeg-1 and avi files use virtualdub, scroll to the frame you want, select video->'copy source frame to clipboard', and paste that into your favorite picture processing tool.
with mpeg-2 files you should probably try a software DVD player, most of them have a function for grapping frames.Donate your idle CPU time for something usefull.

If you turn down the hardware acceleration on your graphics card, alt+printscrn should work, in all media players. I only found out about this just now, I needed to grap some frames from my WindowsMedia9 test, and only wmp9 will play these filesDonate your idle CPU time for something usefull.
