    .bmp ?

    I Downloaded a movie, and it is in a (.bmp) file extention. it is 3.8 megs long. can't find a player to play it any suggestions? If someone knows of a program to covert it to (.avi) or something that would be usefull also. Player or program, does'nt matter both will work for me...

    .BMP is an extension usually use to define a single graphic image - and not a video.

    Right click on the file and select "Properties" . If it brings up a a multiple (2 or 3) tabbed index, click on the "Advanced" tab. You should see information describing the video and audio codecs used - if it truly is a video file.

    It could be as simple as changing the extender from .BMP to .AVI or .MPG.

    Let us know of your success ;>}

        If you have a file like i.e. "video.bmp" simply select the file in the explorer, press the F2-Key and edit the name to "video.avi". If you can not see the ".bmp"-extension in the explorer you will have to deselect the directory-option that hides the extension.

            I really don't mean to sound rude, and this is not intended as a "flame", but this board is not for learning the very basic usage of Windows.
