MPEG Capture with Sony Video Camera

I have a Sony Digital Video Camera Model IP7E, and I'm having many problems trying to import the MPEG format. The camera records in Mpeg2 format. The software from Sony, called MovieShaker is not very complete.... and it does not allow you to select what part you want to import. I tried UleadVideo Studio but it does not want to work. The camera is PAL. Anybody have any ideas?

You may be able to find a trial version from the website at MGI (I'm not sure).

In google.com search for mpeg-2 recording software perhaps?
