Help. I'm really new to all this. I have a new XP and am having trouble viewing downloads. Do I need to download the 3.11 AND/OR the 4x codec? Thanks anyone.

That would depend upon what format(s) the downloads are. MPEG1 files should require no additional codecs to run. MPEG2 files typically require the codecs that are found in software DVD players (Win DVD, Power DVD, etc.). .MOV and .QT files require the Quicktime player. RA and RM files require the RealMedia player. AVI files require the codecs that were used to compress them.
It wouldn't hurt, for .AVI files, to download both the DivX 3.11 (make SURE that you've properly installed it!) and one of the DivX 4.xx codecs.
