I've been using virtualdub to capture from my win tv. I captured AVI, 25fps, 24bit RGB and 16bit 44.1khz audio. The file size was about 14gig for a 30 video file. Once I'd converted the video to Div-x i deleted the original AVI. Even though it's gone, the space on my hard drive is still taken up. It's an 80 gig drive, with 56gig of files on it, but windows says there's about 70 gig being taken up.
What is going on? Will a defrag sort the problem out? Because i started to, but even the defrag map didnt show any free space. The hard disk is NTFS formatted.
