    Getting rid of web links

It seems everybody and their mother has figured out how to add scripts/links to their media files (at least under Windows) that automatically open up your web browser and take you to a given website or URL.

This aggrevates me to no end. Provide a link that I can click on at the beginning or end of a clip... but don't take me somewhere without asking.

Anyway... does anyone know of a way (either by editing or via some utility) that I could easily clean these web links from a media file? Or, at least some way to identify that a clip contains a link before I try and view it?

A good way to clean junk out of avi files is to open it in VirtualDub, select direct stream copy for both audio and video and save. As simple as that and fast too (it just takes the time to write the bites on HD). Got rid of a lot of ActiveX and their kind that come with downloaded avi, those are especially annoying when you try to play on computers with no internet access.

      Beautiful, Qyd!

Thank you! That's worked great for several guilty files.
Unfortunately the version of VirtualDub I have doesn't support .wmv/asf... and it seems that this is the format where web links are most prevalent.

Anyone know of a tool (presumably from Microsoft, since, as VirtualDub says, they prohibit third party utilities from processing asf) that can do the same thing?

Thanks again! It's a great start!
