    Subtitle Recording

I need some advice!! I am tring to find out how to record subtitles to a movie. In better terms I am tring to copy a DVD movie and add subtitles to it. How can I do this. I am using DVD Dycriptor and DVD2AVI. What else do I have to do?

Are you encoding directly to divx with DVD2AVI ?.

DVD2AVI does not support subtitles ripping, so if you use DVD2AVI for divx encoding you'll have to reencode the movie to add the subs, you can do this with virtualdub, as per this guide

But of course you would be much better off using a method that lets you encode the subtitles directly from the vob files, without reencoding. GKnot lets you do this.

But if you ask me the optimal way to do subtitles, is to use direct vobsub for playing the subtitles from an external subtitles file. As per this guide.
