    Divx 2 Mpg-1 conversions.???

It seems to me that the whole world is geared towards converting to Divx. . So what Im looking for is Divx 2 Mpg_1...conversion software.

This is proving to be a hard task ....problem is that so far, most things haven't worked. So...im becoming irrational and unstable and I cant seem to function properly as a caring citizen of the world ......Unless :

    a) Some really cool babe / dude who has succeeded where i have failed, can tell me exactly which software to get .

    b) This software actually works

    c) The end result is an Mpg_1 spec file, which actually works , with the audio in sync

    d) The Mpg_1 file can be cut to CD sizes ...for VCD.

Now so far I have tried about 10/12 progs that said they could do it... but none have.... There are So Many out there its very baffling.

try TMPenc (http://www.digital-digest.com/dvd/do...s/tmpgenc.html) it is very good, but it might not help with the sync problem. the sync problem could be because they made a NTSC movie to DivX, and to get rid of the Interlaced problem, they might have convertet it to 23,97FPS whike it would have benn 29,97FPS, and I think (Havn't tried it myself, but have experienced to problem myself) that the problem is that when you do that the sound comes out pf sync, and to workaround this problem you change the framerate that mediaplayer uses to play the movie, and then it might acrully be running at 24FPS to make the audio match, but a vcd can only run at 29,97 (or 30)FPS for NTSC and 25FPS For pal, and then the sync problem starts again, and I don't no if you can work around this problem here

Although I still have much to learn and understand! The biggest problem I've faced seems to be the audio going out of sync. However, this so far has fixed that problem:
        Get Vitual Dub,
        Open divx file,
Upon loading this file a warning may appear stating that audio is vbr and there will be up ??m/sec skew. If this is the case go to audio and select wav audio then File save Wav.
This extracts the sound. Then enter TMPGEnc and select your original divx file for the video and your just saved wav file for audio and encode as per other guides in this forum.
So far this has worked for me!

Good thinking "Lighthousekeeper" I hadn't thought about VBR MP3's

The suggesetion is good, but it takes a extra time to do, so what I would suggest is that you get the VirtualDub, that is capable to use VBR MP3's (http://www.digital-digest.com/dvd/do...irtualdub.html) Called: vdub_mp3_freeze, and frameserver to TMPEnc.

When VDub is installed run the "Auxsetup.exe" in the VDub directory and push the install handler button, then restart your computer, and open VDub again, open the file you want convertet, and apply the filters you want (Resize in VDub since it is faster than TMPEnc) then press "File-->Start frame serve" and press "Start" to the first screen, on the second screen you should select where you want to put the frameserver file. Type a name, and remember to add ".vdr" in the end or it will not work.

when you have done all this, you have a file called "Something.vdr) in the directory you chose, open the file in TMPEnc and the sync problem is now solved (hopefully because I have never tried this, I have only tried it with the regually VDub with files without VBR, but it should work.
