    Video Capture Problems

OK, I'm trying to copy some video tapes to a DVD format and
    I've run into some problems....

I have a Nvidia GeForce 4 MX440 video card. (MSI) and when I try
to capture video from certain video tapes, I get a large white
bar that goes completely across the center of the pic from left
to right and blocks out most of the image on the picture.
The line does not appear in the preview window during capture.
Only when you play the file back after capture is complete.
And it also only does this with certain video tapes so I'm thinking
that maybe it is Macrovision causing this problem.

I have tried it with 3 different capture programs and also tried on
another computer with the same video card. I cannot get it
to capture video without this bar appearing on the final cut.

Does anyone having any ideas? I only want to watch some of
these movies on my DVD player.
    Any help would be appreciate.

    Thanks,
    Maj

Your thinking would be correct. If you can find an older version of ASUS Live!, it should obviate your problem.

For other possibilities, read the postings here under the "Macrovision" section of the "DVD" section...
