    unstoppable full screen

Whatever movie with whatever player, after starting the movie goes full screen and cannot be stopped unless I reboot my system.

Assuming that [Alt]+[2] in wmp6.4 does not bring it back to 100% zoom, try reinstalling DirectX8.

Even if none of that works you should still be able to kill the player by using either [Alt]+[F4] or [Ctrl]+[Alt]+[Del].
Donate your idle CPU time for something usefull.

I have the latest of everything. Normally in XP one can stop a prog through the taskmanager. Doesn't work either. I wonder, can it be the update Nimocodec? Or is it Numocodec? It might has left behind something after uninstall. But what?

The NimoCodec pack shouldnt have any negative effect in windows xp. But why did you uninstall it? Was the full screen happening when you had the nimo pack installed or after you uninstalled it? Try getting "Tha Playa" Its a good movie player and most people dont have probems with it.

I uninstalled NimoCodec to eliminate possibilities. As far as I can remember didnt the error occur before. The funny thing is that it happens with any player; that suggest some underlying software.

Well, if you cant even use your windows xp task manager (ctrl + alt + delete) then something is probably wrong with your whole xp installation. Are you dual-booting your computer (running 2 operating systems on the same pc)? I would suggest reinstalling windows xp.

I deinstalled DivX 5.02 and installed it again. Suprise ! It seems to be in order now. One of those Windows driver mysteries I suppose. Just waiting for the next problem.
