Divx 5.02 Average Problem (i think)

I have a problem and i think is about my PC config.

I have a PIII 450, 380MB ram, 3D Blaster 32 MB, and a Sound Blaster Live.

When i try to see a fillm in divx 5.02 the movie lost frames, and the audio dont sincronize with the video that go slowly.

I have installed Nimo codec PAck, and in the conf of the divx, i have all in "best perfomance" not "best image"

The problem is my pc?????

or i have another prob.??

the movie for example:

or the problem is about the quality of the movie????
I have no problem with oter movies, for example...

i dont think the pc is the problem but maby the film that is not encoded correctly

i dont think so

the movie that a tell, are 2 cd;s and in both the problem is the same
and with another film with divx 5.0.2 i have the same problem.


I think that the prob is not that movie...

This is almost cirtainly because your CPU isn't fast enough (Try watching the cpu load durring playback). Divx5 is often much harder to decode than older versions of divx. And don't forget that the resolution 576 x 432 is 8% larger than a typical 16:9 resolution like 640x360. And the very high bitrate doesn't exactly make decoding any easier. To get smooth playback you may need upto 1ghz.

Anyway you shouldn't watch this kind of stuff

i see the load of my cpu and stays in 100% when i see a divx 5
and dont happend with divx 4

I got the idea............

I just finished clearing up this problem myself..What are you playing the movies in. WMP 7.01 or the supplied Divx Player 2.x Alpha neither player is great....Try BSPlayer...It might help

yea using a different Divs player that dosent eat up as much memory as WMP or some others woould probably help. I would try gdivx.

The following may be helpful:

Reduce desktop area/colour depth
Turn off all non-essential applications
Use a less cpu intensive player such as BSPLAYER
Reduce post processing? "quality" to minimum value
