    quality issue

well, ive been ripping and converting dvds for a couple of years now, and i am still learning new things every day...
i use dvddecrypter and flaskmpeg, now with this combination, i have had few problems...most of which i can work out, but this one has me stumped...
ok, i ripped "madmax" duel layer dvd with the dvddecrypter...the vob file worked perfectly when played through my dvd player, but when i opened the file in the flaskmpeg, i had a "pixalation problem", if you can call it that...
just using the player in the flaskmpeg program, i have numourous sections of "double lines", like half the whole picture at some points
when i converted the file to avi, it had the same problem
i even deleted all files and started the whole process again
i dont understand why this has happened only with this movie...can anyone offer any suggestions on what mmay have done it, or how to fix it?
i would post this on the flaskmpeg board, but i dont speak german

    1) Are you ripping the ENTIRE DVD or only the movie .VOBs? If only the movie, try ripping the entire DVD instead - and selecting "Load DVD" in Flask

    2) When you open the video in Flask's player, what are the two framerates indicated?

    4) Play the file for awhile in Flask's player. Does the information stay constant as "Interlaced" or Progressive", or does it alternate between the two?

    3) What video codec are you using and with what bitrate setting?

    4) Try checking (or unchecking): "Deinterlace", "Reconstruct Progressive Images", "Keep aspect ratio"
