NTSC 2 PAL in Live television

I am wondering how we in Denmark (which is Pal 50Hz) can receive a live transmission from USA like a concert or so (Which is in NTSC 60Hz) does anyone know how this is done not that I can use it for anything just curious.

And another thing, how can they convert Sitcoms series like friends, Fraiser, or Will and Grace from NTSC to PAL, because they proprobably filmed it with an Interlace camera or what???

Hello, the live transmission you are seeing isnt actually live, its delayed by a few seconds, because it has to travel, satellites are a long way away..
50Hz is the refresh rate,so its quite possible they dont have to do anything for the transmission to operate, but they may adjust it to 60Hz in transmission with a conversion codec.
Without millions of $$ in equipment, theres little can be done with it.

To record any video,in any format, simply use a vid capture card, and record to avi,the NTSC or PAL format is only required by the analogue player or television,1ce its encoded, its digital and u can do anything u wish with it.Hope this helps.

I know that its not completly live of course but what I meant was that they don't record it and the cut it togheter and send it off they send what they are filmning right now the only thing is that it has to be transmittet. And about the Refresh rate yes that is correct but 60hz and 50hz isn't quiet the same and if you have tried to play a NTSC (60Hz) movie on a PAL (50hz) television you will get a choppy sensation and that is what i am talking about it isn't there.
