    problems during playing vcd

    Hi

I used tmpeg to convert a divx (Avi) file to an video cd file, bye following the digital forum guide for converting divx to video cd. I so burned the video cd with nero. When i played it in my dvd player the picture quality and the sound was good, however when i forwarded or rewinded, the sound disapears, to get the sound back i have to stop the movie and start it again and the sound comes back! I am wondering why this is happening, I don't think it my dvd player and that I probably have skipped an option, either when I converted it from divx to video cd or when i bruned it with nero (it might also be my dvd player, but I really don't think so).......I really don't have a clue....Do you know??

    Thanx

Just a few things to check, how does it play on your PC ? can you FF or RW on your PC ie. drag the small bar forward and back and does the volume stay with the movie ? Have you had or got the same problem with any other VCD? Can you FF and RW on a DVD with any problems ? If you havent had problems with other VCD's is this particular one on the same brand of disc?

    Cheers

      Audio Off In FW/RW

I'm using a SB Live 5.1 Gamer and have found that my last few motherboards hate this card. Under Win98 it often caused the lossing of frames (base of the record format and amount of time). In 2000 I don't lose any frames; however, when I drop the file in Nero it informs me that the audio isn't recorded in the correct format. So I load up TMPG Encoder, Load in VCD NTSC setting, press "Start" and in under a minute the file is VCD compilant.

I see the same thing as you mentioned until this is done, even in TMPG Encoder if I'm just cutting my recordings.

      Hope this helps.

VCD out of sync on dome DVD players

        Hi

I have created SVCD using DVDx 1.6. Burned by NERO and CDRDAO.
It plays fine on every/few PCs (as mpeg file or SVCD). It also plays fine on CONIA and AKAI stand alone DVD players. On ALL models of Hiteker (600A, 660, 700 and 800) plays fine until I change chapter or FWD, then it looses sound sync.
Tried few different CDRs and CDRWs, same result.
Some other SVCDs (created by someone else play fine on Hiteker DVD). Any idea ????

        Thanks

        Nenad

After you cut the MPEG Repacketize the file with M1 Edit. A few friends have Hiteker DVD Players and must do this when backing up there DVD's to VCD's so they will play with out problems

          Cheers

OOPPPS forgot to mention, Repac it to VCD not MPEG
