VHS To DivX, VCD, SVCD, Cd/r, or others ?

Hello friends, I have some old VHS video tapes movies I want to have on cd`s. does anyone now howe I can do this ?

wat software I must use ext.
or where I can read some infos on this kind of kopy`s.

is it possible to copy this tapes on a cd/r and then play them on my extern dvd player ?

or wat about vcd and other formats ?

can anyone please tell me how to do this.
