MPEG: movie stops playing 20 secs before the end

My mpeg movie stops approx. 20 secs before the end (in Win.Med.P. the bar shows 5:24 as the duration of the movie but the file stops at around 5:00). How do I fix this?

Try loading it into TMPGEnc and resaving it, as follows:

File>>MPEGTools>>Merge&Cut

Set mode to either MPEG1 or MPEG2, as is appropriate for your file
Load the problematic file

Save with a new filename

Now if its a AVI (DivX, Mpeg 4) Try DIVFIX
and rebuild index. (Keep original though just incase)

xvid - I can only tell you the extension of the file is mpeg, dunno which type

setarip - will try, only problem - I don't know whether of the mpeg 1 and 2 is appropriate?
