    DVDx with AC3 audio

    Hi everybody!

Can you tell me if it's possible to obtain SVCD with AC3 audio
using DVDx 2.0? The result of my attempts it's only stereo audio!
    Thank you very much!

Although it's possible to MAKE an SVCD with an AC3 audiostream - and it WILL play on your PC - it WON'T play the audio on your standalone DVD player (because .AC3 audio is not part of the SVCD standard)...

      are you sure?

      ah.. ah...
      quite strange...
... well, and why with DVD2SVCD I obtain SVCD
with 5.1 output playable in my stand-alone DVD?
Don't you think perhaps it's a codec problem?
      Thank you, darling....

Included in the SVCD standard IS the capability to include a DIFFERENT format (NOT .AC3) audio format. Perhaps DVD2SVCD generates this format (I don't use that software, so I have no first-hand knowledge of its capabilities)...

A little further research discloses that my speculation was spoton:

"DVD2SVCD allows you to create SVCD with MPEG 5.1 output using an .exe file called pub_enc.exe. You can either use DVD2SVCD (recommended), or search the web on usage of pub_enc.exe, which comes with DVD2SVCD package."

          ... very good

Thank you Setarip for your answer... Now I've only to find
if DVDx 2.0 can work with "pub_enc.exe"... But your
information is correct! Thank you very much... and bye!
