    Burning .cue files

Whenever I burn .cue files with Nero, the movie plays in my stand alone dvd player but will not play in my dvd rom on the pc. Any ideas as to why this is?

Also, does the quality of the movie change when converting from mpeg to a .bin file?

    Thanks

Does the PC DVD rom support this format?

No, a .bin file is only an image of the disc.

Thank you for the reply. I guess the dvd rom doesn't support it although I thought it would since it's brand new.

Good to know about the .bin file.

      Thanks again

        Playing Vcd's on DVD

You can play Burned VCD's on any DVDRom u just need the right codecs..(Mpeg 2 Decoder)...I recomend Tsunami pack...and the right software player...most will be able to switch from DVD to VCD or SVCD formats...or use something like BSPlayer...

isnt the .cue file the cd layout? And the .bin is the file(s)?

The cue sheet is simply the file that tells the cd-burning software how to burn the cd of the bin file.

Bin images of a game or application is written in MODE1, while .bins of (s)vcd's and console image files are written in MODE2. It is basicaly a different way to write image files.

When you have a bin file, you simply load up the file into any part of the burning wizard, and it will automatically know what mode to burn it in because of the cue sheet.

                  cue files

I use nero to burn cue files and I use the Burn CD Image option in the other CD formats section...Dunno where it is in other setups but i'm sure they all have similar toggles...
