Ok once again I was a dumbass. I tried to install the driver again and to no avail it killed my video so I just got done reintalling Windows... I will never get another Nvidia card again. I tried to repair my windows and everything but it installed 2 drivers one from the CD and it hid itself in the computer and itstalled from there. So I reinstalled windows deleted the drivers in Safe mode since that is the only place I could get a display then I went to regular windows and installed the old driver..

Thank Microsoft for WINDOWS XP SAFE MODE!!

The only thing I can think of is that you downloaded a beta driver and not one that is an official release. Could this be the case? What was the driver version that you had before you updated and what was the one you updated to?

I think the new one was 4.9 or something close to it and my existing driver is 3.11.0130

This brought me to one question.

Have you installed your motherboard or AGP driver prior to installing anything else including the Detonator driver?

Sounds like you have so very old drivers! I think those are beta drivers that you downloaded. If you goto www.guru3d.com you can download any version of drivers and I would suggest trying one that is a few steps lower.

No problem. Alot of times the Beta drivers can cause problems. That's why that site is so good because they keep all the older drivers available too. So you're guaranteed that if one doesn't work at least one of the older ones will.
Good luck.

Nvidia says that their detonator drivers are backwards and forward compatible, and should fit any of their cards (hence the huge size of the driver install app). Try getting the update from the Nvidia site.

Hey thanks for the advice but I ain't doing crap to this card anymore. When I get enough money I am not gonna get another Nvidia (i'll prolly go with Radeon) and hit up to the 128mb card
