    Quirky XviD codecs????

    Ok so i have a typical XviD download...as many of the movies ive been getting are....i run it in bsplayer...there is audio but no video...however in about 3 seconds of film play i get an error message with bplay????...I know the recomendation is to install codec pack such as Tsunami...which i have along with fddshow...i even changed the fourcc to divx...to no avail???? any suggestions before i trash it??

    It's probably a fake file intentionally posted by the MPAA, in its effort to stop the illegal trading of commercial movies...

      It would help if you can just load up the AVI file in Virtualdub and check the File Information.

        I did open it with vdub mp3-freeze...it looks just like every othe xvid ive seen...there is audio on playback just no video...its the problem with dloding movies......kinda like a box 'o choclates...yah never know watch yah gonna git....

        think ill just rip my own....

          Can you post the File Information (obtained from Virtualdub) here?

          To obtain the file information, open the AVI in Virtualdub and go to File -> File Information.

              Looks legitimate to me. Try reinstalling your XviD codec and/or FFDShow. Updating them to the latest version would be a sound idea.
