Hey guys I got a question here. Today I realized that My Computer is picking up a CD rom drive that I do not have.. It says the CD rom name is Image Simulation SCSI Cdrom Device. I looked at the driver profile and I have files from Ahead (Nero) Roxio and a couple Microsoft files for it. Does anyone know if I need to uninstall the drivers for this or just leave it be?
CD rom showing up that is not in the computer!

Its most likely a "virtual drive" which you can load up cd-images onto it, without having to burn them first of course. Did you install (recently) Daemon Tools or any other burning software?Did you know you can SEARCH the forum? Fixes common problems too:

Well, Cdrwin doesn't install any "fantom" drives. And are you still doubting thats it a virtual drive when it has this name (which you posted): Image Simulation SCSI Cdrom Device. Just the name of it, and the fact that it's SCSI are a few giveaways. Most people still have older interface drives, which are still good, but can't beat scsi.
The disk is full probably because there is an image loaded into the drive.Did you know you can SEARCH the forum? Fixes common problems too:

Well I am kinda new to something like that. How would I remove the CD rom? CDRwin isn't on the computer anymore and I read that link and the same thing happened to me. Everytime I tried to delete something for CDRwin it automatically restarted my computer but I fixed that problem with Safe Mode...
Oh yeah and everytime I try to open the drive to see what's in it, it says "Please insert disk into drive F"
Are Image drives worth a poop or should I just burn it to CD and say screw itComment

Well yes. I sometimes use Daemontools to mount a VCD image to test menus/audio/etc are ok before actually burning.
Starting to use it to create DVD-R for the same purpose. I hate to waste expensive DVD-R media

Since you're familiar with CDRwin, then you should now that the 3 and 4 versions were stable and very reliable and were made my GoldenHawk - and didnt install any virtual drives.
Then they sold the rights to their program to another company which started out at version 5, and things just havent been the same since then, although goldenhawk technology still does updates to their versions.Did you know you can SEARCH the forum? Fixes common problems too:

"Are Image drives worth a poop or should I just burn it to CD and say screw it"
If you know how to use them (and have a good program) then they're very useful to not make coasters and test cd's.Did you know you can SEARCH the forum? Fixes common problems too:

"I used it a couple of times but found that Daemontools does what I need. Thanks for the info though."
You're welcome, and i too agree that DaemonTools does a good job, especially better than that 5 version (of cdrwin)Did you know you can SEARCH the forum? Fixes common problems too:

Here is the good old (by old i mean by goldenhawk) reliable version available for download. As for Daemon Tools it is freeware and is very useful for mounting images. This will install a Fantom Drive (up to 6 drives if needed) and there are numerous guides available.Did you know you can SEARCH the forum? Fixes common problems too:
