600MB avi file with virtualdub splitting into 2x300MB and have 42GB

have 600 MB avi file. with virtualdub want to split into 2x300 (later convert into mpg and burn into VCD), but get message that this file will be very large (also smth about compression), and recomends set video->full procesing mode. but when splitting, it doesn't help, file is aprox 21 GB. what to do?

This should give you a hand:
    1. Open file in Virtual/nandub
    2. Set both Video and Audio tabs to Direct Stream Copy
    3. Use the Mark In/Out buttons to specify the start and end of the first segment
    4. Go to File -> Save as AVI and give a name to the new file
    5. Repeat steps (1) - (4) for the second segment
