Big question from a rookie (for me anyways)

I just recently got this web site come up on my explorer:

it sounds too good to be true... but i have heard that these programs do exsist out there. this site doesn't even have a company name or anything so i don't think i can't take this too seriously... any thoughts, suggestions, opinions?

think they forgot to tell u u should need a tv card at all to *lol* cant imagine that it would work without.

There are some good freeware things out there, that make same in good quality too.

But I NEED A TV CARD FOR IT AT ALL, i just cant imagine that it would work without *lol* (one that accepts cable tv like hauppage, then i just link it from my VCR to my TVCard in the PC and can record)

I record with FreeVCR and edit using commercial software MagixVideoDeLuxe (great one ) and can easily make mpeg1 format files with freeware TMPeg Encoder (tsunami) so that i can burn this mpeg1 as a VCD with Nero Burning Rom (www.ahead.de) which i can play in most standalone DVD-Players (note for viewing at PC u need DVD-Drive and DVD-Software, otherwise make avi-Videos (best compression but no DVD)).
Mpeg2 (SVCD) can just be viewed in latest dvd-players
Playstation 2 doesnt support VCD and SVCD at all.
      The Grandadmiral was here!

        To Thrawn

You stated that, for viewing a VCD on a PC,
"note for viewing at PC u need DVD-Drive and DVD-Software"

You are mistaken. You merely need to open your Windows Media Player (or any other player that plays MPEG1 format videos) and open the VCD's directory in an Explorer window, open the subdirectory "Mpegav" and simply "drag and drop" the "Aviseqxx.dat" file onto the player.
