    taking screenshots while watching a movie?

    How do I take one the screen is just black!?

    If it's an .AVI (DivX-compressed or otherwise), load it into VirtualDub, scroll to the screen you wish to grab and select "Copy to clipboard". Run any "paint" or graphics program and select "Paste". Save your image. (I believe BSPlayer has the ability to grab an image "on the fly").

    If you're playing a DVD with WinDVD, simply press the "p" key...

      do what setarip said...

      but the reason you are getting just black is because the player you are using is using an overlay, you should just be able to turn that off somewhere within the settings to get your screenshots to work, but the way setarip suggested is the best way.
