    Xvid movie upsdie down

    Hello everyone,

I am new to this and I hope someone can help me. I try to play Xivd movies on Media Player 9 and BSplayer, and i also installed Code XviD-04102002-1.exe but the movie was upside down when i played it. How can I fix this problem? I hope i have installed the code rite. Aside from running/installing the file after downloading, is there anything else i should do?

    Thanks for the help.

Well, I had same experience like that, but I can fix it by re-encode the original movie and set same frame ratio and resolution with the source. This usually happen if I change video resolution or video frame ratio while encoding some movie. If you don't have the original source that don't flipped, then I don't know how to fix it. Cause I don't find any software that can flipped back all the frames. It's nothing wrong with your player or your codec.

You can still re-encode using Virtual Dub
        Do this

Open up the AVI in VirtualDub
        Set Video to Normal recompress
Click on Compression under the Video choose you codec you want to re-encode with
Set audio to direct stream copy
Under File click on Save as AVI then let it do it's work

That would be a rather drastic workaround for a problem that is mostlikely caused by a misconfiguration on voicelesslove's system.

If you can't find the cause of the problem. You can at least workaround it by flipping the video durring playback. This can be done using the ffdshow playback filter.

I am currently encoding the movie using VirtualDub and it is taking forever. Is it a long process or is it coz my system is slow?

How can i change the ffdshow playback?

Thanks for both of your help =)

              1) Install ffdshow.
              2) Select Start->Programs->FFDShow->configuration
              3) Go to the Misc. menu and check 'Flip video'
              4) Go to the Codecs menu and make sure 'XVID' is checked and 'Use XVID' is unchecked.
              5) Close FFDShow configuration utility.
              6) Play the video.
              7) if video is still flipped, go back to the misc. menu in FFDShow configuration, and uncheck 'Flip Video'. Close the config utility and restart the player.
