    WMV to VCD

    i have g4 ti 4200 video card and i'm using Movie Maker to capture movies off the television......A full movie is about 550 Mb but when i want to burn it as a vcd file i need 2 CDs in order to burn it....because it goes by how long the movie is...it's using "time" instead of size i have windows XP AMD Athlon 1700 512 RAM hope you can help me Thanks

    What you've described is standard. You are correct in stating that MPEG1-VideoCDs are based on time, rather than filesize - which typically means up to 80 minutes playback per burned conforming VideoCD.


    Additionally, regarding filesize, WMV compression is significantly better than MPEG1 and, therefore, the difference in absolute filesize...
