    .inf file problems

    Hi.

    I followed the info on how to create autorunning CD's.

    I believe that in the past while learning something else, I switched the registry on how an .inf file is opened.
    Right now my options are Internet Explorer and Notepad (when I right click).

    Therefore nothing happens when I load the CD with the autorun.inf file.

    Please help me correct my .inf file registry problem....

    Value Name: Autorun

      Reg settings fine....still no playback

      Here is the autorun.inf file in the CD root (along with the main video.avi:

      [autorun]
      open=start mplayer2.exe /fullscreen /play /close \video.avi
      icon=DivX.ico.

      Is mplayer2.exe global or should a directory be specified.
      Second, do you need to append the CDRom designation?

      I'm still puzzled.....but thanks for the help so far

        No. If you can run that app from "Start/Run" then it's "global."

        No need.

        You inf looks fine. What if you right clicked cdrom and look for an "Autoplay" option?

        Autorun could be disabled.

          Autoplay set....but

          The autoplay menu for video files is set to open WMP.

          The only other thing I can mention (that I may have screwed up) is that when I right click for the properties of the file
          Autorun.inf....the setup information says it is going to open with Internet Explorer. The other option is with Notepad.

          I believe this is where I am screwing up.

          Any last help on this would be appreciated.
