Capturing DVD to Mpeg (or Quicktime)

Yes I'm talking about copyrite material, but before you freak out, please read on....

I produced some spots (music) for the producer, she in turn gave me a VHS compilation of all my spots as well as a few dvds.

When I asked if it was ok to digitize the dvd spots for the website, I was told that was fine but she didn't know how to do this.

sooooooooooooooo, my question is, how do I capture the DVD which is playing on the PC to a quicktime, realmeadia, dvix, mpeg...etc..etc....for a promo spot?

DVD to MPEG would be fine too as I am an owner of Premeire and Video Vegas 4 and can render to any format after converting.

However, I'm still a little clue less, I don't want to RIP the whole movie, just a few sections of the movies...that's all.

If anyone knows how to open a DVD (Internal PC DVD player) and capture to MPEG, etc, at a certain point, please let me know.

Thank you thank you thank you!!!

    thanks in advance...
