    fast forwarding on asf?

I got a .asf file from a friend and when i played it, it works but the problem is when i tried to fast forward it, media player juz won't let me. I believe this file was supposed to be a streaming file but my friend claims that he could fast forward. I'm wondering whether it has anything to do with the codecs i got on my system. Anyone?

No. .ASF files (especially if they're captured streaming files) are notorious for poor fast-forwarding (If you're patient - sometimes more than a full minute, you'll find that the video is, in fact, advanceable)...

I just went to my friend's place and it is indeed able to fast forward. He uses a program called ASFRecorder. I downloaded the same program as him but whenever i fast forward, the movie freezes. Anyone experienced this before?
