Rotate an AVI file?

I have an AVI file of some ski footage. In it, I rotated my Canon PowerShot A40 camera vertically to be able to capture the steepness of the hill. In the movie players, it plays horizontally so now I need to rotate the movie so that that the skier doesn't look like they are falling from the sky. Does anyone out there know of a good freeware or shareware program that can do this easily? I'm new to the whole movie arena so if it is easy to use, I'd be even more grateful.
