Hi

I wanna edit some divx videos in Premiere. avi files which coded with Divx are very slow so i need to return them to the original encoder.

how can i get ride of divx? is there any app that can do it for me?

If you want Mpeg 1 or Mpeg 2 use TMPEGnc. If you want raw avi use virtualdub. I would use TMPGEnc and convert it to MPEG1 unless you have loads of extra hard drive space to waste on a raw avi.

You DO realize that you'll lose some image quality as a result of converting/re-encoding, don't you?

Yes. You'll lose quality as a consequence of re-encoding - no matter what software you use.
