vcd or svcd, tell me more

i have got this dvd 2 vcd conversion sussed, my results are in my mind exelent, but 2 day i have bought a dvd player that will play svcd' s. my question is , is there any difference in quality and is it worth converting to vcd or svcd

if youre happy with the quality then stick to what you,ve got...SVCD is to much hassle I convert my DVD's to mpeg 1 and i,m well happy..for SVCD you,ll probably need a new capture card for the higher mpeg2 format plus all the rollocks that goes withit...and for what?, a slightly better picture...nah no thanks
