I am very pleased with the new Divx 5.05!

I am very much liking the new 5.05.
I was watching a 5.05 movie just now, and I had the same movie in 5.02, and I noticed that 5.05 is clearer, and birghter. The main thing for playback that i noticed was a really good contrast ratio. the darks were brighter than 02, and the brights were having a good contrast when touching a dark color.

I haven't really encoded a dvd in 05 but I will try.

Actually to be honest with you I haven't been able to encode to DivX ever since I got rid of DivX 504 and got 505 it says mpeg2dec (or similar) is not a AviSynth plug in. I have AviSynth 2.51 should I go back to a previous version?

what method of encoding are you using?

I use GordianKnot 0.28 (latest)
DivX 5.0.5 at 1106 KBPS

I even tried to just use the AVS file in VDubMOD but that didn't work either

Ok figured it out but can't fix it. the file was mpeg2dec3.dll just to tell ya

My lanzcos resizer is screwed I used Neutral Bicubic and she's working file 6 more hours to go!
