VirtualDub 1.5.1 error!

When I try to load .avi files into VirtualDub, I get the following error message:

"Couldn't locate decompressor for format 'dvsd' (unknown).

VirtualDub requires a Video for Windows (VFW) compatible codec to decompress video. DirectShow codes, such as those used by Windows Media Player, are not suitable."

I am simply trying to load .avi files that I captured from my digital video camera. Any thoughts on how to fix this problem?

I downloaded and installed the codec pack and it did not help. I'm still getting the same error message. Any other ideas?
