every time I try to make a dvd it says theres are no writing drives detected in the system or the drives are not ready for writing. please try agian I am using DVD-RAM discs can anyone help me.

Does your DVD burner support DVD-RAM?

(Read its documentation, or look on the box it came in...)

no it suports rom but it does not catch that type eathher

What software are you using to burn dvd-ram discs? Ensure that it supports the dvd-ram standard.

Nero recognizes my Mat****a DVD player/CD burner as a DVD-RAM burner...but since Sony doesn't recognize it as such, I'm assuming the DVD-RAM function isn't supported. Went out looking for RAM media to check it out, but all I could find were cassettes.

well I am getting pc and that one will have a dvd burner for shure sence my brother is bulding it so thats all the info I need thanks every. I will be gone frome my computer for a week or so so don't think i am ignoring anyonebecouse i am not answering back
