Are DVD players going to be able to play Divx and WMV anytime soon?

Like anyone, I'd love to be able to play these formats on a stand-alone DVD player. I'm gonna buy one, but with DVD players now starting to have WMA playback and with a new Terminator 2 DVD coming out that has another side that is WMV (much higher quality) it seems like it's only a matter of time before it happens. I can easily wait a few months if thats how long it'll take for DVD players to be able to playback WMV and Divx files. Any ideas?

Well I answered my own question after finding a few other forums. Actually went out and bought one today too. Realized that it will be quite a while before WMV/Divx playback happens and found a discussion about Norcent DVD players. Picked one up a wal-mart for $50 and it does everything I want it to (obviously with no Dixv/WMV playback. It took 5 seconds to make it region free and I won't have to go through the hassle of authoring VCD/SVCD files cause it'll play raw Mpegs.

There are already a couple of dvd/divx player on the market. You can search this forum for more information and www.dvdrhelp.com

The KISS dvd/divx player is quite popular.
