Cannot Render

I have a problem with a movie that I downloaded from the internet. I used the GSpot and there was a message saying that:

Error Name:VFW_E_CANNOT_RENDER
Full Error Text:No combination of filters could be found to render the stream.
************************************************** **

There is no codec missing.
What can I do for that?Is there any program that can fix it?

Any digital video problem to do with movies downloaded off P2P should be in the P2P forum, because many forum members do not want to reply (or view) posts that suggests piracy may have been involved at one point or another.
