    tv-out problems!!

    Hi everyone!!

I´m having a bit of a problem getting my tv-out working properly, using s-video->composite, my pc won´t sense that tv is connected, using s-video->scart the screen turns out b&w...the card is a Ati Radeon Mobility for notebooks...
What´s the best way to solve this problem??
Is there a difference between using 7-pin mini or using 4-pin s-video??
And final question, is there a way to activate overlay.mode for ati radeon, or perhaps or other solution for getting divx to play in fullscreen and still be able to work on pc-screen??

    plz...help me!!

Try installing a more recent version of the Catalyst series.

Uhh, it's a driver package for ATI Radeon series, much like what the Detonator is to the Geforce.

        Official ATI driver

        Omega Modified driver (Recommended)

Ok, I've tried installing the newest catalyst-pack( i´m pretty new with ATI cards and wasn´t familiar with it) bu it didn't help me...i still have the same problem...
The only thing i can tink of is the cable...
could it matter if i´m using 7pin miniDIN or 4pin s-video??

If you or anyone could help me it would be superb....

Try using the S-video to Composite converter that you must have got with the card. Connect the card to the TV via a Composite cable.

I haven't used this card but I know a problem I had once with the system not seeing the TV is when I had the computer monitor plugged in and put in hibernation mode. Then I unplugged it and hooked it up to the TV and turned it back on. It tried to wake up from hibernation with the previous configuration but the monitor wasnt there anymore. After a fresh and full rebooting it was fine.
Don't know if this is what happened with you but thought it might help.

Just call ATI or email them for support. You get the results you need. They can be really helpfull. They helped me install my Radeon 9800 Pro.

                  tv-out issue

The thing is that ATI doesn´t have support for the tv-chips for laptop, this is maintained by the laptop producer, in this case Compaq...guess what tehy say huh? Go contact ATI for a solution...but i´m keep on fighting for solving this ****...

you say in your first post that you can get it to output to the TV but it is black & white,
this can often be caused by the TV chip being configured to output in the wrong TV standard (NTSC instead of PAL\PAL instead of NTSC), check to make sure it is set to the right standard

                      Re:

I've done all these settings i think, the output signal is being set to pal-b automatically, thanx anyway!
