help, my monitor is toooo dark

i am using Elcard MPEG2 player and the picture is too dark to enjoy. Normally i use Powerstrip 3.30 to increase my primary gamma/primary brightness on my monitor. But it doesnt seem to work when im using the Elcard MPEG2.
Does anybody have a suggestion or fix they can help me with?

ok i fixed the problem. I changed the setting directly thru my Gforce ti4600 card.
