capture problem?

i have been using a firewire card to capture my video's on my p.c.
lately it had stopped functioning properly-e.g:
i can't watch my vids anymore because the picture is very bad and
the screen looks as if it's made of big squares -
and i can not realy see what's going on

what could be the problem?

(I'm assuming that you haven't changed any settings in your capture setup)

Check your connections (secure, any breaks) and your firewirecard (seated securely)...
