No sound in WMP after nimo install

I installed a nimo codec pack and shortly afterward started getting video, but no audio in all versions of WMP.
I get video and audio in Real8, but only video in RealOne. I uninstalled the codepack with add/remove programs, but I continue to have the same problem.
I use WIN98SE. Any advice to restore WMP's appreciated.

Is this happening with ALL video files or just a few specific ones? Make sure the volume slider in WMP has also not been accidentally set to mute.

Unfortunately, it occurs for all types of files. The mute and sliders are not set improperly.

Were there any error messages whenever you attempt to play a video? Have you checked your soundcard volume control (especially the Master and Wave volume controllers) and ensured that none of them is set too low?

After attempting to locate and download codecs, the error message "Unable to download appropriate decompressor-- 80040200" appears.
None of the controls you mention are too low or muted.
I can play these files with Real8, but not RealOne, but not with any version of WMP.
