When playing my downloaded movie files on my pc to my a/v/r to tv I have a buzz in the audio, I have played with the media mixer, but did not help. I can also hear the buzz on my pc speakers if I turn the volume down real low, Any one have an idea how I could cure this problem?

you should try some better cables. mmm....monster cables, not cheap, but very worth it.
you're basically getting interference from the tv, very common with any large electronic device.
oh, just thought of one more possible cause, its probably not the case, but if you live in an old house with not a great electrical system the power irregularities can influence signal quality, but probably not on the level you are experiencing. and even if that was the case there really isn't much you can do without spending a lot of money.Comment

As for eletrical problems I have a great APC 1250 Line-R, which is a line conditioner which I use on my Sony STR 920 a/v/r
Like he said though it is probably the TV. My TV always gives me static while I am on the phone while I am near it.Comment

I am begining to wonder if I am not going to have to get a better sound card. I have to turn the volume almost all the way up on my pc speakers to hear the audio good. I have a right, left & woofer. They are line powered. what sound card would work the best for what I want to do? a sound blaster audigy or a sound blaster mp3 with a usb port?Comment

In the most cases a low volume is not a problem with the soundcard, but with the movie itself. Many DVD-Rippers that convert the ac3-audio to an other format produce a very low volume. The best solution would be a player that allows to increase the volume at more than 100% or a good external amplifier.don't trust in guidesComment
